WHAT TO WEAR TO MY TEST SHOOT/DIGITALS:
All models should arrive in loose clothing that does not leave marks on your body, no tight waistbands or tight socks that will leave seam lines on your body. Wear no makeup and wash your hair the day before your shoot, not the day of, unless you are instructed otherwise by your team. Bring your foundation and any unique hair or makeup products that may not be in a standard makeup artist’s kit. Women, if you are going to a casting, go-see or similar meeting where you're not shooting, when in doubt, wear something form fitting and all black, for example, black leggings, black tank top and black heels. This way they can see your form immediately and you'll look like you know what you're doing.
WARDROBE
The more you can bring the better, try to bring everything on this list and then some, plus whatever your team instructs you to bring to each specific shoot. Obviously you won't be shooting in all of this wardrobe but now we have options. Some of this stuff will be worn under the featured clothes you’ll be modeling, so it needs to be discreet with no bold patterns, colors, labels, etc. that will take attention away from the clothes you’re modeling. Preferably everything on this list will be neutral colors with no graphics, logos, words of any kind. It’s okay to bring Calvins or Dior with the logos and labels, but you should also have options with no words or labels, especially in black and gray.
For undergarments, please bring smooth or seamless options when possible. Try to avoid thick fabrics, textures, patterns, or colors that will show through outer garments you are modeling.
WOMEN
For fashion-oriented models, women will ideally wear black jeans/leggings and a form-fitting neutral-colored tank-top that is either black or white. For fitness or swimwear models, black bikinis are often worn to show shape, along with black heels are ideal to complement this look. High heels are recommended but not required, as they are an acceptable “cheat”, oftentimes making models appear taller and accentuating proper posture. For jeans/leggings colors, it’s safe to go with black jeans/leggings and a form-fitting tank-top that is either black or white.
MEN
For fashion-oriented models, men should ideally wear form-fitting jeans and a neutral form-fitting top. You cannot go wrong with black jeans and a slim cut black t-shirt. For fitness or swimwear models, men often take shirtless modeling digitals as well to show shape.
HAIR & MAKEUP
Everything about modeling digitals is supposed to be natural. This means your hair should not be overly styled, and heavy makeup is not recommended. You will see some sites that say that absolutely no makeup should be worn, but this is not realistic. Extremely light concealer that gives off a completely natural look is fine. No eyeliner or heavy mascara, and if you wish to go without makeup, that works too, but very light makeup and natural lip balm is completely fine.
